The Armenian landscape is one of rough beauty. Centrally located approaching the city of Dilijan we came upon mass amounts of trash laying out on a mountainside, but this is't uncommon. Even the fact that it was burning in the daylight was also something that seemed normal. But the fact that it continued to rage into the night surprised me more than anything. Every system has their flaws, and Armenia is a very new nation in todays world. Hopefully soon this idea of trash burning will be a thing of the past.

Armenian families have taken over a few apartments here and there, but a majority of the buildings have been decaying since the fall of the Soviet Union.
